Churches and courts and all sorts of important buildings Downtown.  You guys know I like to fill the camera’s frame with my subject, and this shot is no different!  Love it!!  Good times!

This building is so damn ugly that it doesn’t deserve to be fit into the frame entirely!  Nah just kidding I couldn’t get it all in there so this is what you get.  And besides, this building is such an eyesore it doesn’t deserve any respect.

Yeah I forgot what this building is, but it sure is pretty so of course I was gonna photograph it!  It’s right across from One Center St if that helps any!  (I hope it doesn’t.)

That Frank Gehry building Downtown with the sun behind it, that’s why it’s got such weird colors.  Not that I should be explaining myself to you, but that’s the reason.

This view at the end of the Brooklyn Bridge is also beyond difficult to get people free, so I just shot it how it was!  Nothing wrong with that!

As much as I’m always trying to get my NYC photos people free, some areas it’s almost impossible!!  Astor Place here is the perfect example!  I stood here trying to be people-free for a couple minutes, and no way was that happening!  So I photographed it with them in it, which isn’t all that bad.

I still LOVE filling that frame edge to edge with building!  These shots always get me pumped up for some reason, maybe it’s because I’m a horribly boring person.

The tiling on this ceiling has always been one of my favorite building details in Manhattan.  The curves, the tiles, the round lights, I love it all!!  (Also, I always think about if this ceiling was magically flipped right side up it would make a perfect skateboard ridin’ spot!)

See you know how I been slacking on the whole blogging thing because I been ‘too busy’ (read: lazy) and all that?  Well this is part of what I’ve been doing.  I like to watch NASCAR while cross stitching, and this bird was made while those guys did loops in whatever race I was watching then.  This birdie is missing it’s eye and the rest of the piece, but when I come across the finished piece I’ll post that too.

As much as I want to remember other things about this photo, all I can think about was how cold it was and how numb my hands were.  I mean I do enjoy those light streaks and all, but it was SO COLD out there!  Probably not the best time to go shoot long exposures I do agree, but I HAD to go shoot so what are you gonna do.  Basically I just wanted to complain.  (Because I’m Dutch.)

See when a photograph has the address of whatever I’m shooting right there in the image it makes naming so much easier!  This way I won’t have to think of some froofy artsy fartsy title like ‘Glass-clad Buildings Along a Major New York City Artery’.  We now can all see this is 1071 Avenue of the Americas!  Also known as 6th Ave by the way.
